Reviews for Akademie Street Guest Houses
This such a gorgeous place! An old Cape Dutch building converted into a hotel. The ambiance is incredible. The decor fabulous. Our room is beautiful and has all the amenities including a free mini bar. A real sense of relaxation with luxury.
What a gorgeous hotel! Staff are very attentive. Rooms are stunning and couldn't ask for a more comfortable bed. The orangery for breakfast and night caps is to die for. I'm really missing it!
A beautiful curated boutique hotel. From the pool to the airy conservatory, everything is well thought after. You have your own private pool area and bath tub on the balcony with a fire place. We had the fire burning in the evening while sipping on the night caps on offer. Their friendly staff and a good breakfast makes the stay very homely. The location means you can walk to the towns busy strip for dinner, shopping or to take the Franschoek Wine Tram.Visit my Instagram for more of my travels @Nontando58
Very peaceful place, amazing rooms, the attention to details to make you feel welcome and at home is amazing, close to restaurants and wine farms, I enjoyed taking the bicycles for a ride.
The room itself was very nice. It is in a great area. However, Declan, who claims to be one of the owners really messed up the morning for my husband and I during our stay. He knows what he did and it was not nice. He made promises (that we did not even ask for) and no one did anything for us. His staff was not even in cite when we left the Akademie.
Amazing boutique hotel. Beautifully designed. Great staff and the most personable manager ever.
Attention: Owner change in the mean time - no personal experience yet. Unfortunately they splitted the small cottages into two rooms (same price, less privacy), that's why I reduced from 5 to 4 stars. Was 2014 (with owners Catherine, Arthur & Hazel): One of the best small hotels (or you could call it B&B as well) we stayed at. The service is excellent, the owners and the staff very friendly and extremely helpful. It's well placed in walking distance of all restaurants in town, the place is very quit. The rooms are decorated with al ot of love and we could enjoy all the nice amenities like fresh fruits, free wlan, free laundry, free Illy coffee in your room which are included in the room rate. The breakfast is fresh - al ot of organic and home made food prepared to your wishes.
Nothing I can really add that has not already been said. Simply a lovely place to stay. I have no doubt that we will return .
Have had to re-evaluate all other 5 star ratings in the light of our stay here. This is the new benchmark! Some fabulous small touches - free drinks in the room fridge replenished every evening. Complimentary laundry, sundowners, great breakfast and beautifully done rooms. Every room is different so could come back time and again and have a slightly different experience..
One of the nicest hotels I have ever been to. Staff is attentive. Rooms are perfectI mean everything you need and could think of is taken care of. The hotel compound is really neat and relaxing. The breakfastamazing. I honestly could have stayed here another week just relaxing.
Excellent venue - will definitely recommend.
"Attention to Detail"
Really enjoyed their attention to detail. Friendly and interested owners. Wish it was a bit warmer so that I could've swum.
