Reviews for Avalon Springs
What an awesome place! Feels like an oasis. Clean. Neat. Well managed. Friendly staff. Need to come visit again...and again..
I have been coming here with family since i can remember and my dad has come here with his parents from the start. The staff that know us are very friendly and every nights bar men were friendly and sociable. I did find that the cafes staff were kinda off. Clean rooms, good service and a good time.
Great weekend away. Staff very friendly and helpful. Recognizing one 2 years later awesome. Child friendly lots of activities to keep them busy.
Pools are open 23 hours a day so that is superb. Rooms are very neat and comfortable. Braai area is nearby. People very helpful and friendly. You hear the birds chirping early morning. Wonderful!!!!!
What a wonderful place to unwind and recharge yourself. The kids absolutely loved the hot springs. The mountainside chalets are wonderful, with their own Jacuzzi and big deck overlooking the valley...what a place.
We had a wonderful stay here. The rooms are comfortable with everything you need. There is a lot to do and of course the hot springs are the main attraction. The atmosphere is dated but in a way fitting with the resort. The restaurant serves delicious meals. There is a take-away option or even self catering. All-in-all a fantastic spot for a family holiday. We'll be back!
Fantastic holiday destination with great hot water pools. Restaurants and bars are great. Self catering units are small but adequate if 2 sleep in the 4 sleeper room. Nice hikes and walks in and around the Springs. Hot pool is great for early morning winters, but too hot in the summer. Highly recommended.
What a place! Excellent staff. Rooms very well appointed and the meals served in the restaurant are amazing. The breathtaking setting lends to it being the ideal place to recharge those "batteries". Simmering in the hot pools comes highly recommended.
Wonderful service. Excellent facilities. Really enjoyed our stay.
Great place to get away from the hussle and bustle of city life. Clean & neat rooms with friendly staff. Hot springs to spend some quality time in with friends and family. Whether you just chilling or having a blast. There is a pool side bar and super tube. And don't forget the buffet breakfast
"Rough around the edges"
Kids loved it but there's a lot that can be improved. Pool area was messy. Bees at main guest pool were stinging kids. Rooms need some maintenance. Need more water slide options for kids under 6. Staff generally friendly. Food reasonably good. Overall the place needs some investment as you can see it is getting old and tired. We'd come back because small kids don't notice most of these problems but wouldn't recommend without kids.
So amazing! Hot and warm pools with gusts of water splashing over you. Perfect weather, friendly people chatting to each other, quite a few foreign travellers all enjoying the wonderful natural heritage that makes us love South Africa
Awesome hot water spring resort. Great place for families. Lovely mountain chalets with everything u need for a comfortable stay
This is a awesome place even for children and old people the only downside is you must buy your own braai grid to braai at R200 that is not on. And we are guests that stay here for 4 nights. The surrounding nature makes up for it beautiful mountains gives you the relaxation you need.
Was amazing! Staff is wonderful and the whole experience want 10/10, from the moment we checked in till the time we checked out. Avalon hotel was lovely and the food is absolutely amazing!! Will definitely be going back!!
