This historic guest house, with its solid yellow wood floors and ceilings has just recently been completely renovated to a modern comfortable establishment without losing its old world charm.
Each of our bedrooms has a king-size bed which can be converted into two twin beds, if required. In addition, two rooms can accommodate one extra single bed, making it ideal for parents visiting their children. Rooms are serviced daily. Each room has a flat screen TV with DSTV, tea/coffee making station, wall heaters and ceiling fans for making your stay comfortable.
You don’t have to be a student to appreciate all the things to do in Grahamstown. While this small town is most well known for Rhodes University and the National Arts Festival, it holds many more hidden and eclectic activities.

I really love Brown's Guesthouse. They've got nice, big, warm comfy beds in a quiet setting. And the food is delicious too. I didn't like the fact that the WiFi is a bit weak in the rooms though, but other than that, it's real value for money. I'll keep coming back.

The very first time I was in Grahamstown I spent the night at Browns. A small guesthouse which makes for a comfortable stay. Located in an old building near Rhodes University but with a modernised interior - well everything in this town is old - but Browns makes good use of the space. Most Grahamstownians enjoy the food here but not for me, hence 4/5 rating. Good service, very friendly and homely vibes.

Beautiful olde world setting. Immaculately presented room with all the amenities I could have wished for. Food was scrumtious and well presented. Rates were reasonable for an out of season stay. Hosts could not have been more accommodating and hospitable.
