Reviews for City Lodge Grand West
A lot of attractions here for young and old. Ice rink and arcade game park. Great restaurants and excellent for live concerts. I have watched a number of big names here and on the whole enjoyed the sound , performance and set up. Were not able to take too many pics as it is a casino ...
....This is still our best hangout place! Loads of entertainment & other indulgences of sorts! Many good places to feed at from fast food to posh elegant dinning some cheap and some pricey...The cheap meals available right on the casino floor these are the foot-long hot-dogs, mince curry and rice or the taste-ii chicken stir fry! Always fun to be here!!...31st Oct 2018:- Halloween Day!!!!
I was here for a conference on Karatbars International. Came away totally excited about saving. The venue was great. The only issue I have is that having to buy your lunch at the eateries could take to much of ones free time.
Go gamble, ice-skating, tenpin bowling, get something to eat, watch a show and so much more! Lots of secure parking available and endless options of entertainment under one roof. Kids can run around safely and be entertained for hours. There is a movie theatre and very wide selection of restaurants. From fast food to sit down dining, it's all there. Try your luck at the casino. Tables and machines are all over and really fun to try! Live shows are a must, from comedians, musicians, festivals and exhibitions. There is also a hotel on the premises, so you can sleep over if you had a little bit too much fun :) if there is an event, make sure to pay for your parking beforehand, it is much cheaper and quicker, than doing it afterwards.
Laser tag was so much fun. Parking was a dream and the staff very friendly. We needed to bring in a birthday cake and Spur met us at the security check point to pass us through. Really a fun day out.
Great buffet, mediocre clubs, fast food and movies at this joint. Its okay but not spectacular. Not the greatest place if you're not a gambler. I am very impressed by the casino and the entire complex that consisted of movie theaters, bowling ally, ice rink, food court and some great restaurants. The casino it self was well run and the games and machines comfortably spaced and not crammed in as most casinos are.
Very busy on nights where there are shows. Very impressed with the fact that you can buy R10 parking tickets just outside the building from the attendants and skip the queues at the parking pay stations. Would like a bit more signage to say where I'm going, but it's not too hard to navigate. Staff is friendly. Wide variety of food & drink options available. A little overpriced. Could also have more seating available in the food court. Arena is quaint and cozy. Lovely view of the stage wherever you sit. Loved the experience.
World class facilities. I can't speak for the casino but the lineshops , restaurant's , food court is top notch. Then you have the wonderful Ice Rink , Nu Metro Cinema complex , entertainment area from ten pin bowling , video games , kiddies rides and the fun park .Not to forget the indoor venue where multiple concerts and events are held with a capacity seating of more than 3000 people. Overall great experience.
Affordable parking - safe and secure giving you peace of mind while having a ball of a time. Over enough entertainment for young and more maturedHours could be spent, not noticing time going by.Variety of eateries and even those with a sweet tooth are catered for.A cinema is also included for those wanting to get away from the noise and rush of it all, including a hotel to spend the night or two where your every need will be taken care of.Be sure to have enough time set aside, aa you will need it with the endless amount of things to keep one busy under one roof.
Best place to relax, have fun or have an outing with the children, family or friends. Casino is a good place to relax and enjoy yourself. The children or even the family can enjoy the ice rink, tenpin bowling and the amusement area. The live shows they have at the grand arena is a must if you are close to Cape Town. GrandWest is always very clean on the inside and shops as well. Very good place to spend the day.
I stayed there over a weekend, and I loved the warmth of the staff. We were treated very well; the entertainment system in the room is great; and the 24hr complimentary WiFi was the cherry on top, as I was unable to leave the grounds all weekend. The reception area is classy, as well as the waiting areas. The only downers, I'd say, are that the rooms were not completely clean. I found an old grape in the room, probably from the previous occupant. Also, the bathroom ceiling could do with some more scrubbing; something was growing along the corners. I would definitely recommend anyone to stay here once the additional cleaning has been done. I wasn't disappointed at all.
It is well run and the staff are quite good but still lack real professionalism.I am not a fan of fake components in an interior nor architecture that is incongruous with its neighbours. This IS what GrandWest has unfortunately. But it's safe, neat and organized and has a great ice rink. So for the non-aesthete non-snobs, don't hold back.
....This place has been our hang out since it's door opened! We love to chill out at the movies, eat out at the multitude of restaurants and also the more casual food stalls at the Food court, catch live shows in the Arena! Oh Yes! And blow our hard earned cash on the tables & slots.....Also watch sport on the multi screens in the Alabama Sports Bar!...February 2018: - Inside on the casino floor you can now purchase cheap meals from 18:00 to 23:00 on offer is mince curry & rice, chicken stir-fry or a foot-long wors roll each meal costing R45.00 and they are very taste-ii!!!!...........
I've been going to Grand West since it opened. I use to enjoy going but not so much for the past 3 years, smoking side not up to scratch any longer. Winning is no longer there for me, I usually just feed the machines without even a play. I still enjoy going but will probably stop one day soon, thanking you, Maria Booth
It was exactly what we needed after a long drive from Jo'burg. Very clean and modern facilities. The beds were amazing, had a great night's sleep. the pool was also great for cooling off.
"Luke warm reception"
When the guy at reception eventually looked up from his paperwork he told my wife to get our own trolly. He showed no willingness to assist with the disabled customer. The girl who took over from him was streets better which shows you what only one bad apple can do to a place's reputation. The room was very comfortable and clean and the rest of our stay went very well. Overall the place is very well groomed and wheelchair friendly.
