African Safari Lodge in Grahamstown
This fully serviced Guest House features 3 en-suite bedrooms, a living room, a dining room and a fully equipped kitchen with laundry facilities. Each room is furnished with either a king-size bed or twin beds. Amenities available to guests include fans and tea- and coffee-making facilities. The House has a spacious patio with braai (barbeque) area one offer a panoramic view on the open plain and valley where one can view zebra, buffalo and antelope, among many others animals and birdlife.
The Main Lodge, sleeping 6 in 3 luxury rooms with en-suites and 2 Deluxe Suites which can sleep up to 3 persons.
Each En-suite bedroom can be book separately.
African Safari Lodge boasts magnificent views of beautiful Yellow Wood Trees supporting large Crown Eagle and Hammerkop nests. During October, November and December the nest provides views of parent birds feeding 1 or 2, fluffy, white chicks. The nest has been occupied for 20 years. Guests have the possibility of seeing a Fish Eagle diving and lifting prey from the water, while they relax and enjoy refreshments from the porch.
Freshwater fishing is available on the 5 km riverfront around the lodge. The Bushman’s and Kariega Rivers offer tidal river fishing. Rock- and surf fishing are available along the pristine beaches and deep sea fishing is also offered from Port Alfred, which is a 45-minute drive away. Other activities on the property include, Kayaking/Canoeing & walking trails
Perfectly balanced, African Safari Lodge is a nature lover’s paradise with dense ravine thickets, scattered thorn trees and open areas making this an idyllic outdoor experience.
There is a 4,5km gravel road leading to the lodge It could be a slight challenge for sports cars with low profile tyres. If guests cross the speedbumps at an angle and stick to the speedlimit it should alleviate most of the concerns. Road maintenance is done on a regular basis.

Einer der schnsten Pltze die ich jemals gesehen habe. Herrliche Gamedrives mit den Gastgebern Anneke und Hennie Le Roux und Brian Mullins. Bootsfahrten auf dem Kariega River und beobachten der wunderschnen Tiere die es auf der Insel gibt. Ausflge im Gelnde bewaffnet mit meinem Fotoapparat und Ausflge nach Grahamstown und an den indischen Ozean waren unvergessliche Erlebnisse fr michThanks for a great time on one of the most beautiful places if ever I have seen in my life
