Our family of 6 adults and one little boy decided to spend the weekend at the coast. I was pleasantly surprised by the beauty of this old gem. The location is amazing, each bedroom has expansive windows overlooking the endless beauty of the ocean. The bedrooms are large and comfortable. The lounge is welcoming and relaxing with breathtaking views of the ocean. We really enjoyed our meals and were once again pleasantly surprised by the variety and delectable tastes. The staff are extraordinary, they ensure that all of your requests are catered to. It is an old hotel that is very reasonably priced and the service offering is beyond one's expectation. The ocean is easily accessible and the walks are lovely. We loved our time at this stately timepiece and enjoyed watching the boats launch into the water from the comforts of our much to enjoy in a short space of time.

This place needs a serious make-over! It is stuck somewhere between 1985 and 1988. Highly priced in season, whereas I won't mind the cost for that location for high season, normally, but I would expect better accommodation in return. Well situated, this place can be dressed in a lovely, new and fresh jacket and shine. Let's hope there are such plan's in this old dame's future. As for the staff, lovely people, all of them.

An old hotel which was very nice some time ago. Still nice, but you can clearly see the age.

review by Soren Byggmastar, South Africa

We had a wondeful time. Exactly what I wanted - a place where one can come and go as you please and get some peace and quiet at the same time. The staff were excellent, very attentive without being overbearing, always smiling and neatly dressed.I commend Peter and his staff for the well kept hotel - rooms are spotless, bedding and towels as one would expect at a 5 star place. We had a room on the Southeast corner and what a lovely view from the room. We would not hesitate in recommending the Cutty Sark Hotel and you will see us again.
