Reviews for Emily Moon River Lodge
Beautiful guesthouse with view over the river and a good restaurant. We only stayed one night, but with the central 'garden route' location of this lodge and the many possible activities, this could easily be a place to entertain yourself for a couple of days. The lodge also has kayaks that you can use free of charge to explore the river. We had a very nice room (suite 1) with a private balcony, big bathroom (view on the river from the bath) and our favorite: A Fireplace. After the kayaking, it was great to drink a bottle of red wine and warm up in front of the fireplace. We would definitely recommend this place.
What an amazing experience! We will be back; party, festive, stuuning view and great food
A very special place. Individual lodges situated on a small hill overlooking the Bitou river and surrounding wetlands, they command captivating views. Exquisitely furnished inside, spacious, well laid out, and with a proper log fireplace!Excellent restaurant, a further pizza restaurant, two separate bar areas and numerous cozy corners to loose yourself with a drink or two.... Not to mention, friendly hosts.
Perfect accommodations and break fast, nice pizzeria and separate restaurant. Unfortunately small things like free of charge espresso or daily fresh mineral water in the room is missing. These small missing things (which dont cost much) made it not perfect.
Fabulous restaurant in a stunning setting. You can either have pizzas in one section or more variety in the restaurant. Amazing service from the lovely Emily Moon crew. Loved it. Bookings are essential in the busy season.A must visit.
Great stay. Clean rooms, good food. Beautiful setting
Beautiful luxurious lodge with amazing views, friendly welcoming staff and homely atmosphere Weather left us down tho
I am so lucky to have the pleasure of staying in Emily Moon, such a wonderful place, once you enter this place you het the sense of adventure and history around this place, the owner is super friendly and helpful always making sure you have a good time, the rooms are piece of art, recommend for honeymooners and romantic couples, you must try the food here you will not regret it. Well done Emily Moon
Really wonderful place. A unique and enjoyable setting for a nice meal. Staff friendly and accommodating. Food tasty and original.
The location of this lodge is ideal with rooms over looking the river. The restaurant is absolutely superb and we will definitely be back again for the food. We had pizza from Simons Bar the first night and Lamb shank the second which was fantastic. We are also croissant people and boy did they have good croissants over breakfast! The only reason I cant give this place a 5 is because our linen was a little dirty which put me off slightly so just check that and lastly some of the staff although friendly just werent as incredible as the previous place where we had just come from. But over all another lovely place to try out along the garden route ESPECIALLY the restaurant! And if you do decide to sleep over take advantage of the complimentary kayaking down the river which was really relaxing. My cocktail of choice either the mango daiquiri or The pink lady
Always a pleasure. The food was incredible for our anniversary on 10th December but it lost a lot of spark when we returned on 23rd. Too many people to cater for I think.
A very romantic restaurant with typical African views. The food is excellent too and the waiters and waitresses very attentive and fun.
We were seated outside the main restaurant, lovely surroundings and great view off the deck. Had the Pork Belly, Prawns and sirloin steak, all which were good, but not excellent. Mojito was very good though.
It was an amazing experience. The ambience spectacular. The food and service top star notch. We will definitely visit again. Do not miss the experience we had.
Very nice restaurant. The food was great. We had to sit outside because they were totally booked this evening. When we were finished a few tables inside were still empty. That's the reason for not 5 stars. The staff is friendly, just a few mains but the taste is very good. Enjoy there!
"What a beautiful stay!"
It was our honeymoon and we (unfortunately) stayed only one night at Emily Moon! The food was very good, the accommodation fantastic! We didn't have the opportunity to use the already prepared fireplace. Even our car was clean the next morning... One of our best experiences during our trip!!!
