Reviews for Esther's Country Lodge
Sweet little establishment. The owner and staff are super friendly and helpful. I will definitely go back.
Food was very good. Bread was home made and incredible
Beautiful country setting. Great food. A gem in the area.
Beautiful grounds. Nice wine selection. Food so-so and on the pricey side. Geared perhaps to accommodating overseas tourists rather than locals.
Good quality country hospitality. Great variety of food. Tranquil and relaxed vibe. Such a treasure!!
Beautiful place and the owners are great. Had a problem with flys at the time I was there. Cozy inside and an interesting water feature outside.
Had a super relaxed lunch with great food and excellent service. So nice to be able to meet the owners. Definitely going back for a meal and may even stay overnight.
What a lovely surprise. This was a lunch experience that I won't forget. Great food, excellent hosts, tranquil setting. A definite must if you're in the area and a brilliant option for a country drive for Sunday lunch.
We stayed in the Hekpoort area for the weekend and wanted to have a quick bite before going back home so we stopped at Esther's. The place looked clean and tidy but the food was disappointing. My wife and daughter ordered tuna and mayo, and chicken and mayo sandwiches respectively. My wife's sandwich was made with what appeared to be mouldy bread. It was green on the crust. When we asked if the bread is fresh we were told that the bread pan made it green I ordered an omelette which was pretty dry and hard to swallow. Disappointing first visit. Maybe their pizzas are better?
Absolutely fantastic! Went out for a pizza and ended up having a seafood platter and Swiss fondu. Delicious food, beautiful setting and a very nicely designed lodge. Thanks Esther
It was a pleasant experience.Place was clean and the staff was very friend the owner Esther was always present and willing to go the extra for our comfortable stay.Worth visiting again.Thank you Esther and team...
We had a great time at the Esther's country lodge. The rooms are spacious, well decorated and clean. The outside space is very welcoming and there is a true haven of peace. The dining area is nice and the service is of good quality. The hosts are very welcoming and friendly. They know how to create a warm atmosphere.
