Wonderful crowd that always stay at this relaxing, quiet and neat place. Foreigners love this place and so do we. It is self catering and one can also eat at Faerie Knowe if you have notified them. Live entertainment very often too.

I would firstly like to make it pronounced, that my family has been loyal guests to the Fairy Knowe Hotel (not the backpackers) for roughly two generations now. This past weekend however, we instead chose to appraise the Fairy Knowe Backpackers. Sufficed to say, this was a terrible decision. The lack of respect & professionalism from nearly EACH staff member was incorrigible to say the least. I had my friends & family verbally abused by the apparent manager (Didi, if I remember correctly). I had my friends nose broken by other guests, & he was given no medical assistance from the backpackers management. The profanity, in fact, that was dished out by Didi, was horrific. God knows how she made it to her position. I definitely wouldn't want to know. Worst of all for me though, was that the food was incredibly shite. Negative on any returns from our party.

I have to respond to previous review as I was part of the group. Didi the manager really lack of people skills, is super rude and can ruin your entire stay. We came and asked for the price which is advertised on website. Didi the manager said it is price "from" and if we want it, they are fully booked (obviously more then half of hostel was empty) and we have to check in for higher price. She is lying in previous response - she actually never offered us any other hostel, just said they are full go away. Basically there is not any room for the price "from" advertising on webpage. Fake advertising. Finally we had to beg her to accommodate us for higher price because our friend really didn't want to keep searching for hostel and wanna stay there. The surrounding of hostel was good but I would highly recommend to stay in another hostel in Wilderness. Stay away.

We had a great New Years at Fairy Knowe! Everyone was very friendly. I thought the food was a bit overpriced, but I understand they probably have a lot of international guests.

Great place to stay. The big plus is the whole complex, which includes many sitting areas, pool table, beach volleyball court, swings and of course amazing wilderness views. Private rooms are available, pretty standard rooms, in size and decor, with heating and spacious ensuite bathroom. Breakfast and dinner offered for extra payment, bar attracts guests and locals alike. Staff are very very nice!

"Well hosted value for money"

We gave this 5 star rating because of the magical setting, peaceful ambience, friendly hosts/staff,at value for money rates. The bird life was memorable and even the dogs were friendly! We also met people from all over the world- Germany, Belguim and the Netherlands.
