Reviews for Fynbos Guest Farm
Peter is great. Awesome shelter for abandoned animals.
Great camping for young kids with lots of quaint rescue animals and interesting garden displays. The camp sites are well sheltered with power and braai facilities. Critically the venue is near the main road and traffic noise can be heard all night. The wind in the area is severe and although the sites are sheltered the noise can keep light sleepers awake. We had a great weekend overall and Peter made a huge effort with the kids and really has a passion for the animals he loving takes care of.
Campsites are well spaced and offer loads of privacy and protection from wind. Reasonably priced and friendly service. Bathrooms are neat and well maintained. Lovely to have wildlife visiting your campsite. Peacocks and hens are beautiful as well as touch farmShall be back.
Great accommodation. Kids enjoyed the animals very much.
"Peace and quiet"
Hands-down my favorite camp spot in the Western Cape. The gorgeous animals are the highlight.
Restaurant was very basic , needs more meal options on the menu , good atmosphere.
Excellent animal farm. Makes for a great family outing
This place is unbelievable. Caravaners would not be sorry. A MUST Visit.
Perfect for children! Peter is a great host!
Great accommodation, lots of animals, beautiful surroundings
Camping at Fynbos in February was very disappointing! It felt like you camp on a parking lot next to a very very busy and very noisy highway-big trucks roaring by day and night. I was very specific on the phone, asking if the camp is quiet and tranquil, wanting to escape busy city life and have quietness and peace in nature. I was assured by Pieter that Fynbos is the perfect destination for this. :-(. Arriving there, looking forward to a quiet get-away after super busy stressful working weeks, you cant imagine our disappointment! :-(. Who wants to then camp next to a Highway??? -and then not even receiving our deposit back to date! Now I have spent 700,- for one night camping, as we left next day (with Pieters understanding), but had paid deposit for a view nights. We will take this further! P.S. The Pool setting is very pretty, but the pool is super super tiny!...actually more a puddle than pool.
A short stay, but enjoyed the tranquility.
We were assured a quiet nature getaway (speaking to the owner, Pieter) Arriving there, it felt like camping in a parking of a highway Petrol Station... Having explained our dissatisfaction, the owner "understood" our complain, but after 3 weeks still did not refund out deposit (of R420).If you don't want to camp next time a busy highway, do not go there! Owner should at least be honest when asked regarding his offerings. Will take this further.
"The rescue animals were a delight as were the hosts. "
Its small but managable as we have two young children.
This is a little gem of a place just outside the historic town of Tulbagh in the Boland of the Western Cape. It is a guest farm with many rehabilitated wild animals as well as a few cottages and campsites to hire. Thoughtful, interesting touches with surprises popping out everywhere throughout the farm. Uplifting/motivational quotes are attached to trees etc throughout the farm. There is a beautiful and unique labyrinth which one can walk. A small donation gets you some carrot and apple pieces which you can feed to the animals. The little ones love visiting this beautiful little farm. Well worth a visit.
A wonderful camp site on a farm with quite a variety of animals which the kids loved! With only 9 well seperated sites, there is now overcrowding. Clean, homely ablutions make for a comfortable stay. Peter and staff are super friendly and we even got a surprise freshly baked farm bread to enjoy the Sunday morning (yum!!). Can really recommend it.
