Reviews for Happy Rhino Hotel

"Does this place even have an Occupational Certificate"

There are only two good things about this Hotel.1) The Location2) LEAVING THIS SH$%HOLE... In fact this is so good I left early and stayed at another place. DO yourself a solid spend the extra 200 bucks more and find another place to stay. This hotel is a construction site (and they don't stop at 5pm they stop at 1am!!!), non compliant with basic safety regulations.

Terrible looking place! Nothing like the advertisement shows. The staff are extremely friendly. But it doesn't really give one a very safe feel.

Excellent value for money. Rooms were small, but okay. Quite clean throughout. Staff were great! 7th floor, but lift only goes to 5th, so check if you're elderly or infirm. Rooms did not have a decent place to hang clothes, and no hangers provided. A few small basics would add comfort such as towel hanger, a shelf, etc. Toilet was a bit awkward and would be uncomfortable for a large framed person. I'd go back, for the price and location

Spacious 1 bedroom unit with modern finishes. Would give a 4 star but lobby was under construction and our shower drain got blocked

Small rooms quite well kept... Rickety lifts with vicious doors!... Paper thin walls... Extremely nice helpful staff... Very dusty from construction in the same building. We had a lovely view of table mountain... Weekends the noise is great from the neighbouring Long Street bars.

At the time it was still under renovation so there was a lot of construction happening. I was initially booked into a a double room which was VERY small and asked to be upgraded to a bigger room. Which was much nicer. I think the hotel staff need training on rooming guests and explaining the facilities on what they offer. The Other downfall was that I could not call reception from my room and had to go downstairs to speak to reception. Other than that, the rooms are exceptional.

The pictures are deceiving .The entire hotel looks great from the pictures, but it actually has tiny rooms and bathrooms. It looks like a student accommodation. The hotel does not even have the ''free Wifi'', they use the City's free Wifi, which does not connect everywhere around the room. The only good things about this place is that it is clean and next to Long street and the Table mountain.

Tiny, noisy, hot, no fans or air-conditioning or even an ice machine n to he lobby or somewhere accessible to all guests. My room door has no door handle. The DSTV channels are very limited, the most basic package. You get exactly what you pay for. Cheap prices , it shows on the quality of the entire place. The two star rating is only for their location.
