Reviews for Historic Pig and Whistle Inn
This is a "must visit place" if you are in the Bathurst area. A wide variety of meals of above average quality. Comfortable rooms but best of all is the pub and the very friendly locals that frequent it
Really loved the experience - enjoyed the weigh and pay steak evening.
Friendly, relaxed and welcoming ambience in a historic setting. Garden out at the back, tv lounge, smokers' bar (ugh!), but the verandah gives a good view on passing traffic. Sundays the kitchen closes very early.
Lovely historic experience. Old but comfortable and bedding and towels were clean.
Lovely to see this historic pub well maintained and in use.Enjoyed coffee (could've been warmer) & delicious lemon meringue on the veranda.
A MUST for anyone driving past the area. Beautiful, cozy with the most amazing whiskey collection and seriously good food.
Good staff. Reasonably priced good and drinks
Excellent food at a reasonable price. Service good. Great vibe!
Great venue. Lovely settingvery very popular
"The gorgeous room and en-suite bathroom."
The whole experience was just great! Place is perfect, staff just lovely and the food delicious!
Very quirky little place. Friendly staff. Coffee not available all day unless you go back to your room & make sachet coffee there.
Pizza is horrible. Not in anyway authentic or tasty. Definitely more of a pub than a dining experience.
Extremely nice restuarant in the quaint town of Bathurst. We had a breakfast there and was just enough to make us happy. Lovely atmosphere as well with a lot of history behind the name
I have had a few beers and meals in this pub and restaurant over the years. They now also boast with a whiskey corner. This is the oldest running pub in South Africa. May she live long :)
Food and tea were served quickly. Waitress could go to bed earlier so that she is more alert and attentive, hence no tip today!
A great old pub with real character, the superior room we stayed in was gorgeous. All round great atmosphere great people and great food
"Perfect end to a road trip"
This was our last stop after a road trip through the Transkei.... and it was perfect. Beautiful rooms, delicious food and fun bar. Beautiful town and really affordable accommodation. Highly recommend it!
