Reviews for Kloppenheim Self-Catering
We had a great time at this luxurious place. A handrail for the steps in the entrance hall and particularly down to the spa, would be helpful for us arthritic oldies.
The resort is gorgeous; huge inside with ample sleeping space and lovely views over the Highveld. We only had an issue with the service at the restaurant as the waitress was a trainee, which made it understandable.
Just glorious. Fresh air. Good service.
This place is a hidden gem, beautiful landscapes, awesome views. Service from management & staff excellent, very friendly & helpful. Lots of activities, tennis, horse riding, volley ball, hiking trails, mountain biking, swimming, Put-put, to name a few. What a great weekend!
The property is huge with tons space. The suites are also massive, way beyond what I expected. The rooms have an antique feel to it, and my room also has a fireplace in it. The views of the surrounding countryside are amazing. There are a number of activities that you can partake in such as walking trails, mountain biking, putt putt, fly fishing, animal petting zoo etc. There is also a spa where you can get treatments. Sadly they didn't seem to have Wifi in the rooms. The food is your typical buffet style food.
Awesome service and staff are fantastic. Jade at reception really goes the extra mile and is a real gem. I can personally recommend kloppenheim if you looking for that extra special getaway:-)
Friendly staff, comfy rooms and good value for money. Will definately go there again.
Kloppenheim is certainly one of the best Hotels to visit in the Dullstroom area. The self catering accommodation is probably the best bet (You can still use the Hotel Restaurant) The property is very clean and there are lots to do for young and old. Nice roads for mountain biking and also plenty to keep the kids busy. The spa always has specials and offers very good rates. Maybe not the 5 star venue it used to be but still great.
Most beautiful resort I've ever been. Excellent service. Very friendly staff. Over all a very special experience. Thank you
Great family holiday place lotsa activities with breakfast &supper included. Not expensive at all. Great place 2 relax
We stayed there just before new year, just for 1 night, before flying off from Johannesburg to Singapore. The wifi was not working because a lighting has destroyed the system, and we had no hot water, I forgot what the reason was, but we couldn't shower the day before taking a 12 hours flight... Not very nice... They first told us we couldn't have diner at the hotel because it was full, but after we complained because the hotel is really remote and the road to get there is very bad, they agreed to serve us, but only the buffet, no la carte. It was more than twice the price we paid everywhere in South Africa, the food was terrible, and we were allowed only one slice of meet per person, the chef refused to give us a second one. We rented bikes that were of very poor quality and they told us to go on a biking trail that disappeared after 1 km. Before we left, I complained because of all this, and they promised they would refund me for the stay. They made me go twice to the bank to fill in some forms when I was back in Singapore, and 2.5 months later, I still don't have the money. This was our last night in South Africa, we had good hotels and good service everywhere except there, the hotel looks grand from a distance and is pompous, but the service is terrible.
Poor management. Requested an Irish coffee and were served filter coffer in a cup with a dash of liquor.... Place looks neglected. Location beautiful.
Lovely hilltop retreat. Stunning views! Lots of activities for all ages: fishing, mountain biking, walking trails, minigolf, archery, horse riding, petting zoo, and many more. Interiors in slight need of an update but this adds to the highlands charm. 4x4 very useful if theres heavy rain.
It is in a beautiful setting, and effortlessly combines the look and feel of old fashioned farm houses with modern luxuries. It is quite far along a dirt road that has seen better days. Do not attempt to drive there in a sports car or low sedan.
