Reviews for Knysna Elephant Park Lodge
Definitely a place worth visiting if you are down this neck of the woods. A superb rehabilitation centre for elephants with the bonus of a hands on touchy feeling experience mingling with these adorable pachyderms. The guides are very friendly and knowledgeable. The gift shop is filled to the brim with everything elephantcentric. A worthwhile day out excursion.
Wow, wow, wow. For anyone like me who loves elephants this is the place to go. You get up close and personal. One of the best things ever and such good work done by all involved.
It was a SPECIAL HUMBLING ENCOUNTER. KNYSNA ELEPHANT PARK IS VERY AFFORDABLE. GREAT EXPERIENCE that all South Africa's can afford and not only foreign visitors.
Such an amazing experience! The accommodation was beautiful and staff could not have been nicer! Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was so good too!
"Sleeping next to the Elephants!!!!!"
Everything - was the best ever experience of my life !!!!
Spent 1 night with sally and the crew! Amazing birthday experience with one of the big five. Instead of just a visit. Spending one night includes so much more to explore. So worth it. My second visit and definitely not the last. The staff is so friendly helpfull and professional. Everything about my stay was one to not forget including the morning experience and memories captured.
An elephant sanctuary along the Garden Route that will let you get very close to the animals. You also will allowed to feed and even pet the animals. A bit too touristic and commercial for my taste though but If you're really into elephants this is probably something to go for.
Amazing....words can't describe. Every human on earth should visit this place and walk and watch these incredible gentle animals . This was my second visit and I was privileged to watch them sleep during the night. THE experience of my life. Staff super..room super comfy...breakfast ok. Will be back!!!
Having experienced animals in the wild, this place made me feel very uncomfortable. The elephants are fed by guests. Visitors can purchase a bucket of food and feed the elephants by hand. It looks as if the tours slash feedings take place every thirty minutes. Further to this you can pet the elephants. I did not participate as it just felt wrong to me to pet a wild animal. There were posters advertising weddings on site which include an elephants blessing (whatever that means). I got the impression that the vicinity is fronting as an animal sanctuary and that the owners are exploiting these beautiful animals for financial gain.
An absolutely amazing experience walking with the elephants. I cannot put it in words just know that if you can it's something you'll never forget. Our guide was so knowledgeable, kind and gentle with the elephants. The staff are friendly and the entire centre is so well run. The best morning out that I have had in a very long time. If you are thinking about it....go ahead and visit...it's worth it.
A truly wonderful opportunity to get close to elephants. One tip, buy buckets of vegetables to feed the elephants, it is good fun.The guides are knowledgeable and makes sure everyone gets a chance to get up close to one of these majestic beasts.
We enjoyed our visit. Been so close to these majestic animals was a awesome feeling. Came home with awesome memories and amazing photos
A must see if you're in the area. Just outside Knysna, this gem of a place is a real highlight. Up close and personal with the ellies especially if you bring a bucket of treats from reception. The guides are fantastic. Very friendly and knowledgeable, they give you as much time as you need to really enjoy your day out with these lovely creatures. The zebras are an added bonus that add to the great atmosphere of the place.
Not even one person asked us if they can help us when we entered the building. Their prices were unbelievable high for only a half our tour. We were really excited to go, but we decided to go back when it is not season time any more. No one can afford to pay that high prices and not even get any service. The elephant park, just like a lot of other businesses focus too much on foreign tourists and forget about their own people.
Absolutely amazing experience. The elephants are well looked after. The guides are knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. If you plan on feeding the Elephants, walking with the Elephant or actually riding them you wont be sorry. There is a curio shop with elephant trinkets to remember your visit as well as a photographer to capture your experience.
