Reviews for Margate Sands
Brilliant resort. Great facilities. Well maintained and friendly staff. Right in front of the beach with a heated pool, spa and putt putt on the premises amongst other facilities. Great family resort as well.
We stayed in a 3 bedroom unit that had a dining room, sitting room, bar area, large kitchen and patio. There was a TV with lots of DSTV channels in the sitting room and main bedroom. The rooms are very spacious. The central aircon system also helped to drive away the heat. If you want to braai you can use the communal braai area or rent a gas braai plate on a daily basis. The units are well equipped. The large kitchen have a dishwasher and a washing machine/tumble dryer. The wide outstretched beach is just across the road. We saw lots of whales jumping in the ocean from our patio. There is supposed to be free uncapped wifi in the rooms but it is extremely slow. Speedtest indicate 1mb and that is standing next to the wifi router with a full signal in the hallway. In our room it was even worse. There are lots of dining opportunities in walking distance from the resort. This in itself creates other issues as the crowds that hang out here party over the weekends and the noise levels are intolerable. The road running in front of the resort is also a place of entertainment for the people to come and show of their carsound systems right in front of the resort. Over the weekends this is really not fun.If I must rate the resort on its own then I will gladly give them 5 stars but as a whole experience I will only give them 3 due to all the noise.
"The staff was friendly and efficient "
The location is excellent.
What you expect from a five star...
Beautiful views and safe
Resort is good, with good but basic activities at the resort.
Awesome and nice place. The sea is beautifull
Awesome place to stay with well maintained apartments and eateries close by.
"A wonderful unit"
The unit was neat, clean and had all the equipment it promise, we really liked the balcony and bar. Margate Sands has lots to offer kids, they really enjoyed the heated pool and game room. The staff, from security to reception was helpful, Only gripe was washer/dryer which washed fine but afer 3hrs on dry clothes were still wet, maybe leave an inst booklet in the unit.
