Reviews for Mariepskop View Chalets
3rd time I made a booking, 2nd time I get to the gate and there is no answer and I have to make alternative arrangements!! Strongly advise against it.
Has unfortunately gone down a lot so they are way overpriced. Lots of maintenance to be taken care of
Stay away!!! Double booking, blocked drain, door that is stuck, burst geyser, mattresses on the stoep as you come in, electricity trips when you boil the kettle........Some of the problems we experienced at our 6 chalets/rondavels. The gardens are well kept. Thank you for the braai wood and the name board is quite impressive. But there it stops.
Not very pleasant stay. Got our key from little boy. Never see the management. Paid for bungalow and got a backpackers room.Shower shock you when you touch the knobs. Won't see mee again.!!!
"The View of the mountains"
I love the host She is friendly at all times and I received a room upgrade at no extra charge
"Cheap and friendly option for a stop over"
Letitia was an awesome host with lost of tips for things to do in the area. Good value for money even though the communal facilities could use some TLC. Great location close to the various attractions in the area. Only big negative is that it is also located on a busy road so constant hum of traffic in the background.
The owner was not there when we were, but another lady who first at all did not pick up the phone all afternoon, even though we had a transport emergency. Then when we arrived we had a 45seconds max. check in and we had to find our way ourselves to the facilities and the hut with 5 different keys. Kitchen was very basic, huts as well, but that's fine! Then I got electric shocks from the shower!! Wanted to tell someone but there was nobody to be found on the whole premices. We were supposed to hear from the owner, through the other lady, about a drop off in town the next day, but again nobody was around. Even when we wanted to check out at 10 there was NOBODY! So we left the key at the doorstep. Very dissapoiting stay at a beautiful place. Decided to book our returning night in Hoedspruit somewhere else. Tip to the owner; find someone else to watch you place when you are not around. Cause reading your other reviews people love the place when you yourself are there.
Beautiful and quiet. Really enjoyed our stay
This place is fine for staying one night I guess but nothing to be desired, the huts are small and lacking privacy. Not worth the price. There is no view of Mariepskop. If you are looking for a place to stay you can go to Forever resorts Swadini a few kilos away.
Stayed over for one night, price paid compared to the the room received not acceptable. Roof leaked on bed when it started raining. Good service though
We stayed in a basic cottage. It was amazing. Covers your basic needs and compensates the rest with the beautiful open area. In the nights we could make a campfire, look at the amazing nightsky and hear actual wild life rumble through the bushes. Would love to revisit and get that outdoor camp feeling!
