Reviews for Mentorskraal Country Estate
Pleasant place, needs some work but nice venues
Very nice did not have warm water the first day but was helped out so quickly and friendly
Attended a wedding here and it was a memorable experience with a good quality venue and menu that was presented. Chapel on site was a nice surprise as it reduced our travelling up and down significantly on the day. We also made use of one of the chalets that was available after the wedding on the estate and the accommodation was of high standard.
Place with heart and soul. Farm atmosphere. Close to the beach and mall
Went to Mentorskraal for evening function.Food was below standard. The meat was tough and dry. The potato bake grey and unappetizing. That plus a standard salad cost R195 per person plus R50 for entry to the venue. At least the crockery and cutlery was clean and white table cloths on the tables. Poor value for money. In facta little insulting.
My friend and I stayed at the Aloe. For R700 a night for self-catering I at least expected there to be coffee, tea, sugar and creamer as is the standard across SA. Also extra blankets in Winter is an essential. We had to bring our own blankets as well as towels. There was no wood available for the outdoor braai and no notification of where to find any. We were quite disappointed with the cottage. We travel abroad and locally quite often and what was available at that price just does not compare. We were also advised not to drink the tap water and that bottled water was available in the cottage. 5L of water for the entire weekend drom Friday to Sunday! Not acceptable
Wow! Attended a wedding there. Inobtrusive staff members ensuring that empty glasses and dirty ashtrays are removed from the outside atea pronto. Food was delicious even though one or 2 plates were short of an item. To be recommend for your function
The most beautiful countryside views in all directions. Ocean view on the horizon. Wind turbines farm behind. Comfortable rooms. Lots of space. Nicely laid out complex. Various farm animals. A curious peacock that comes to inspect your room through the window. Great breakfast on offer. Friendly staff. Reasonably priced. Beaches within 10 minutes driven. Shopping centre within 3 minutes drive. I will certainly visit them again.
Value for money. Best breakfast on the N2 route
Good if you're having a function (there's a very big hall) but not the best accommodation.
Superb quality of food. Beautiful landscape. Wonderful people. Had a great time here. So good I went back twice
"Peace and quiet"
We enjoyed our stay. Staff were all friendly and helpful. My daughter enjoyed the swimming pool the most.
Really amazing place to get away from the business of city life. Would recommend this highly to young married couples as well as youths who run camps
Nice and peacefull environment
The space and greenness of the place is Mentor's greatest asset. The rooms are comfortable without being plush and the staff are friendly. We took our old dog and he loved it. Sometimes noisy at night with big functions.
