Reviews for Misty Mountain
Stop there and do the Toboggan! Too cool...in fact, drive out of your way to do it! Currently, the longest, fastest toboggan on the continent. The staff's friendly, menus looks good. Didn't have enough time for a meal...but the toboggan!
Most beautiful scenery. Sitting at the restaurant overlooking the mountains down below is breathtaking. Restaurant excellent and the ride with the tebogin thrilling. Just a bit too expensive for such a short ride.
We did the toboggan ride- WHAT FUN (although quite pricey). We then had lunch on the gorgeous sun deck overlooking the escarpment. Well worthwhile
As beautiful as ever. Was here 25 years ago. Still drawn in to the setting, the view and the tranquility. Recommended again, again and again. This place is a gem.
One of my very favourite places. The staff are always welcoming and happy to help. The facilities and restaurant are top class. The quad biking ride in the morning is well worth waking up early. We always rent the farmhouse and go with friends - such a lovely, peaceful time away together.
Lovely place in the mountains. Good restaurant with enough choice and good breakfast. Rooms are cold in the winter but you have your own fireplace and they give you an electric heater. Staff is nice and friendly.
Such a great place to head to for a long weekend break. We stayed in the farmhouse which was fully furnished. Staff would come by each day to clean and re-stock the firewood, the house would be cleaned and the beds made. There is also a restaurant on site if you staying in the smaller flats, catering for all your needs. The place has a fly fishing dam for the fishing enthusiasts but I still rate there is only one fish in that dam. Overall a lovely place to stay for the weekend.
Stunning. Fireplace in the room. They supply you with wood and firelighter every night to snuggle and keep warm. Braai on your little stoepie overlooking the mountains and river. Sounds like it's raining all the time in a rain Forrest. Relax ones sole:-)
Staff very helpful and friendly. Cosy and warm. Chalets well equipped for cold misty weather. Loved the fireplace and wood provided. Food delicious.
Its beautiful and its a place were you can spend time talking than watching TV in the rooms there are no TV's
Wonderful staff, good dinner. The view was spectacular and the front desk ladies were helpful. I left something at the check-in desk and hours later it was still there, they had kept it safe.
What an interesting location. Enjoyed the toboggan ride thoroughly!!! There is a restaurant with a pool in the decking overlooking beautiful scenery. The kitchen didnt have enough ice-cream or rolls for burgers when we were there, but it was over a long weekend.
"Misty Mountain chalet in Sabie"
Loved: views from property, supply of wood for fireplace inside chalet, decent breakfast included, common lounge and games area and the very friendly and helpful staff. They offered numerous activities but can't speak on them as we didn't use any.Needs improvement: checkin/booking service, cleanliness of bathroom and kitchenette/crockery, upkeep of children's playground equipment. TV not available in individual rooms. The property was too close to the main road, so we heard mainly traffic noise and didn't get to enjoy the wonderful views and serenity which is expected from a weekend getaway in Mpumalanga. This property is best for short stays by passing travelers. It is family friendly and a decent no fuss place.
Rooms very clean and comfortable. Great setting, great food. Pleasant staff. Will highly recommend.
