Reviews for Monkey Valley Resort
Wonderful place to stay: so tranquil in a beautiful nature setting. Sea-view rooms has faboulous views on Noordhoek Beach. Accommodation and restaurant very good; in a wooden mountain cabins with thatched roofs and outside wooden deck and inside dining respectively. [Was only shocked by the Saturday evening loud disco at the closeby wedding reception, but then it should be known that this is also a well-loved and professional venue for marriages, seminars and other functions.]
As a marriage officer I marry people all over the Western Cape and this is one of those special places to be married. Beautiful and special. You won't go wrong
The place is great so serene and quiet but the service is crappy. They cheated us on our rooms after booking as group we were made to stay yonks away from each other. One of the rooms was not what we paid for. A (cute) dog came up sniffing our food in the restaurant. The tvs are ancient the WiFi is crappy. It has so much potential they are not using it
Lovely food: Value for money Sunday roast, excellent pizza, burger, malay curry and fish& chips. Friendly staff and service. Magnificent view of the ocean from the deck.
Resort, amazing! Restaurant not as much. Great views, friendly staff, very relaxing and the rooms are wonderful. Food isn't bad but very limited choice and as for our experience, availability of those few choices was also an issue. Don't book restaurant before 18h00 as that's when chef specials are available. Overall and awesome getaway experience. Take note, crown eagle rooms have shared public space which includes fridge, kitchen and lounge area.
Great place to enjoy a few drinks on the terrace at sunset. The food is average and the service is good but the setting is great
The place was amazing. Stunning views and great service. The food was also nice. The only downside was finding a spider in our bedroom.
The resort is amazing. The place is clean and the food is good. The portions during dinner and lunch were too little to my liking but maybe it was only me. I would definitely go back and recommend.
Great view..! Wow unreal... Then the horror starts as we walked into the room.. The box TV from Moses is still in the room..Would like to see a shower for a 4 • At dinner we order beef curry... The butternut was rock solid.... Back in the room again no signal whatsoever on the TV and also on the wifi, and we decided to switch off everything. This all in an afternoon. As it stands now.. I will not recommend!!
What a stunning place! With stunning scenery and very well looked after rooms! Planning a wedding or big party? This place should definitely be on your list! Parking is a mission, and there are no dustbins around the place... Apart from that, very decent place with a very good food quality as well.
An awesome place with a nice view of western seashores. Nice food with friendly employees. Lodges in plush green fynbos was breathtaking. The only problem l had was mosquitos in dining hall and in my bedroom.
Stunning views from the restaurant deck. Best time is around 10am, when the angle of the sun brings beautiful shades of blue to the ocean view, and obviously also at sunset. Food is decent, service is good.
Good place. Didn't eat there although you can. Lovely view. Has a pool and play facilities for children. Close to the beach. Accommodation is good.
We wanted a special holiday and booked a villa for two - the most expensive and premium room in the place. We were absolutely MORTIFIED when 2 people started banging on our door to tell us they were staying with us!! To add insult to injury we then discovered that our premium booking didnt even have a shower. When we shared our absolute shock and utter disappointment with the manager (Anthony), he decided to do absolutely nothing to appease the situation. But wait, it gets better. Anthonys response to the fact we didnt have a shower was you didnt ask for one and when we asked him how on earth will we wash ourselves?! He responded with you can wash with a hand-bath mam.Thats what top price and premium room gets you at Monkey Valley.
Had the most wonderful stay there. Rooms very neat and well appointed. Dinner was superb and well priced. Service was attentive and waitress had good product knowledge which is a rarity these days. All in all a very pleasant experience. We were made to feel at home and welcome from the minute we checked in till we left. Oh and the views aren't too bad either!!
I am a South African who has become an American citizen but who misses South Africa terribly, not only because of its great beauty and because it is home, but because of the changes that have come about in the society. My hope for the country is constant. Monkey Valley is a place where I feel absolutely comfortable, not only because of its beauty but because of its spirit.
"An amazing experience"
Monkey Valley resort is fantastic. We were well looked after and there was no shortage of things to do. From long walks on the beach to relaxing in the resort, the weekend we spent there was not long enough. I would recommend monkey valley for anyone from honeymooners to families. There are many activities for the sports enthusiast and hiking trails aplenty. The resort itself is very big and there are many relaxing things to do, from lying around the pool to enjoying the on-site cuisine, to relaxing on the sun deck with a cocktail.
