Recently the name Vanderkloof was decided on for both the dam and the town to avoid confusion. This Orange River Project was the largest engineering project ever attempted in South Africa. This combined storage and diversion dam also incorporates the Vanderkloof hydro-electricity power station which is connected to Escom`s national distribution network. The dam was officially opened on the 17 November 1977 by the former Minister, Mr. B.J Voster. The 8000 ha Rolfontein Nature Reserve almost surround the town and it houses more than 10 different species of antelope, 142 Avifauna and a rich variety of flora. Rhino Manor rating

Such a nice guest house, with a great ourdoor braai area, pool and TV for sport. We felt at home and had a blast! There is more than enough chairs and tables neatly packed away, so it isn't in the way if you don't want to use it but it's there if you do. Very neat and super clean.

This is self catering...but was disappointed that the crockery and pots and pans were minimal. The rooms woukd have had a 5 star otherwise. Will definitely return.
