Reviews for Salt Rock Lodge
Great accommodation. Everything we needed and added bonus was pet friendly
What a great place to relax. Great service
On our arrival at the lodge, we were delighted with the amazing view from the living area in the main house. However, we were looking for more than just a view. We expected the place to be clean, but it wasn't! The morning after our arrival, we found that the one of the beds had a terrible urine smell. The owner agreed that there was a problem, it must have been left by an "old lady" who slept there before. All of this, after he rudely reprimanded me for using the washing machine to wash their mess. We decided to check all our bedding and found stains on all the duvets and pillows. We spend 3 days cleaning and washing. We felt that they were happy to take our money, but did nothing to resolve the situation. We took pictures of the disgusting condition of the bedding, toilets and utensils, which we posted on Facebook, but these have since been deleted and no reviews are allowed on their site. The owner has no idea on how to treat guests, much less, on how to meet their basic requirements. There is more to a holiday, than just "surfing"!!!
Great location. It wouldve been a beautiful house to stay in if the owners actually cared about maintaining the property. The day after we arrived, we had found unmentionable stains and urine smells on the mattresses. I was shocked at and revolted by the fact that my kids had slept in such unsanitary conditions, so we decided to clean the bedding ourselves. This led to the owner confronting my mother in a extremely rude and aggressive manner in front my daughter, who was very disturbed by the incident. He got right in my mothers face in an extremely threatening way, and yelled at her over the fact that we were cleaning the mess we found. Fortunately for him, I didnt punch him in the throat when I saw him hours later upon returning with rest of my family from the lovely beach just down the road and found out about this abhorrent situation. Not once did he apologise for his behaviour in the 8 days we stayed there. Now, onto the house itself. It has a fabulous view of Jeffreys Bay, and is walking distance from the beach which my family and I appreciated immensely. However, the interior of this house has many examples of dilapidation and obvious carelessness from the owners.
Spectacular view. Close to famous surf spot. Fantastic hosts...J-Bay Rules
"It was perfect!"
We had the whole house to our self. Even though the weather was not favourable the view was entertaining enough!Quiet and tranquil , the perfect break away!
I was only there for 1 night but i thought the place was great. The owner was very friendly, the room was big and clean and the view was unbeatable. Could not ask for more.
