Reviews for Santos Express
Absolutely lovely place. The staff is super friendly and the view is amazing. The food is out of this world. Would definitely recommend anyone to pay them a visit.
Nice restaurant with a good view. Good for a publunch or a beer.Accommodation is unique, not expensive but also rather basic.
Great value for money. Fun experience.. 10/10 for location. Staff super friendly and helpful. Basic but it works .
Something very different and basic. Like a backpackers but with your own room. Would have been nice to have a chair in the shower to put clothes on.
We stayed in the Royal Suite what an unforgettable experience. You able to take a stroll on the beach and in the evening we fell asleep with the sound of the waves in the background. The have a lovely Restaurant with friendly staff and good service. Had a scrumptious breakfast in the morning. Definitely worth a visit.
"The very warm reception and friendly staff. "
The view from our room, friendly and help full staff and the Bingo was great!!!
Fantastic ambience. Imagine waking up every morning with the sound of the waves. It's heaven
Santos Express is actual coaches on rail tracks in Santos Bay, MosselBay.We stayed 2 nights, cheap in my opinion. Compartment had double bed which took up most of the space. However to us it was an option that suited as we only slept in the room. The front end had a nice dining cart area, nice pub lots of draught beers. Food served is OK and included is a budget type breakfast. This can be upgraded though. Parking is safe and near your coach. Pvt Beach and lovely views over the Harbour and Bay from the train. Staff really friendly. In the Harbour within 2km drive is lovely beach type restaurants and sea trips to seal island. Really convenient, very cleverly done and cheaper affordable option. This place must be buzzing in warmer holiday season. • • • •
I still remember the view of the sea in the evening from the train...We booked the Royal Sweet. It was just an amazing feeling to sleep in this atmospheric old train! (Although the "noise" of the waves was a little bit disturbing at night). The interior is old but still in good condition. The bath is very narrow what contributes to the cozy atmosphere. We were only there for one night so we did not do some activities etc. outside the accomodation, but all in all the area did not look very relaxing for tourists.Breakfast was good and the stuff friendly.I would definitely recommend going there.
"Fun and value"
Fun on staying in old railway carriage, hearing the sea at night, excellent restaurant facilities and value.
The concept is quite unique and fun, the location is very nice as well. But if you're too tall you won't sleep very well probably, the sleeping spaces are small. But yeah, it's a train you're sleeping in. The only reason you pay this much is because it's a train and because people fall for these things. Not for confort and a good night sleep. If that's what you want don't come here. You pay for the 'special' experience, nothing more.
Small rooms.. But gives a very nice experience. Very cheap and clean. Great for only shower and sleeping.
Dont expect much in the way of facilities! Its fun to sleep on the train. Its a delight to have the sounds of waves to go to sleep to. The view in the morning is fantastic. Youve paid almost nothing for all that, then they give you breakfast to top it off.
Friendly staff and very cosy. Very clean. Value for money. Large portions of food in the restaurant . Will recommend any time. Small space but that gives the train atmosphere
Nice little place. Nothing special but the place is clean and sleeping in a train is a cool experience. I am 6'2 (188cm) and beds are to small for me. One night was enough for me. Anyone under 6' (180cm) Will fit in the beds fine. Restaurant has good food and the breakfast is great. Location is also good by the sea however I was told it's not a safe area to walk at night.
Royal Suite was comfortable, pity hot water was intermediate. Room cosy and hearing the waves was a pleasant way of falling asleep. Another good thing about the Royal Suite is that you have a save parking spot. The restaurant needs a lot to be desired for. Continental breakfast consisted of water melon and green bananas and bread or toast. Nothing continental about that. Dinner nothing to speak about. Cannot recommend at all
