Reviews for Thanda Tau
"Will visit again"
Accommodation and Kraft-beers were awesome. Great restaurant with good wine-list. Friendly service. Peaceful and serene. Great experience. Will visit again.
Nice location. However not enough personnel on the fore court..... 2 attendants on a Saturday afternoon just not enough
Fly in my soup and my coffee. Best to visit during peak season but not too happy about off peak
It is a beautiful stop for resting while in transit. Place for kids to run around. and a plus is the lion cubs...
Clean toilets. Many food options. Lovely kids play area. Good shops. Also luxury accommodation.
Lovely place to relax and stretch your legs at. Would like to stay over one day got lovely facilities.
This is the gold standard in roadside stops along the N3. Everyone else better up their game.Has everything you'd need, including a micro brewery and a good coffee shop. Accomodation too.
Beautiful stop to see lions and cubs. They have gone the extra 5 star miles to make this travellers rest worth making regular detours to. Wow. Making Africa proud.
This is a welcome oasis between Villiers and Warden on the N3. This used to be the longest unbroken stretch of highway on the N3, but Thanda Tau has brought another choice of a place to stop and rest.Great facilities, wide range of things to see and do, lots of parking too.
Amazing stop! We just wanted to stop for a coffee and saw the garage next to the road. Next moment we are playing with lion cubs and a rhino! Insane!!! We were only 2 hours into our holiday and were already amazed. Thank you for this place. It was honour to be able to be there. Affordable prices as well :)
Awesome stop over. And lovely Rooms. The Lions were a treat. So much to do.
Best place to stop for a break and a quick bite. Lovely setup and they offer interactions with the lions.
Really lovely gift shop and restaurant. The best biltong ever. Rest rooms. Ideal little place to take a break from driving.
This little jewel is a mere 2hrs drive out of Jozi. Such a surprise to find out they have Rhino feeding and enteraction with lions.Curio shop, bakery, restaurant, brewery and pub, coffee shop & pizzeria as well as a filling station with an OK convenience store and a Spur Grill n Go restaurant. So much to do and a welcome rest on your way to the sea or back home.
Weird . We arrived at 7pm. Beautiful unit to stay in. But no food. Had to go to petrol station and eat in the room. Breakfast only started at 8am also next day. For a roadside hotel this is thus weird.
Heading for the Berg over the September Heritage long weekend and needing a stop I thought we could avoid the crowds by stopping here, having stopped before to have a look. It was busy but not unusually so, so sat down and ordered breakfast. Seeing some plates come out it certainly looked good. Well, it took 50 minutes before we received ours. My Farm breakfast was well priced and a good hearty meal, but my wife's Eggs Benedict was nothing like it should be - swimming in source and tasted more like a porridge - a real disappointment. Their coffees are good, the decor is way better than you would find elsewhere on the N3, and the kiddies play areas are worth a stop. Their shop area has something for everyone, and the Brewery too. Caged lions etc not my scene. I will give them one more shot at breakfast (with penalties if they take so long).
"A Luxury Stayover!"
What a lovely stay we had. The rooms, the layout of the property and luxury levels are just amazing. Thank you for such a lovely place to stay and then the bonus of seeing wildlife as well. Also, you gardens are impressive!
