Reviews for The Pongola Express Camp
Honest , helpful and down to earth blokes best hiking trip we've been on .
Beautiful area. Trail is tough as nails. Not for the Novice.
We have just hiked this fabulous outstanding trail..in July..The trail was very well marked..the terrain was spectacular..our accommodation excellent with breath taking views..thank you..We were a group of not particularly fit 60+ women..so the going was slow..but manageable...what an experience!Life changing for all of us ..Well done Num Num !!! we will be back
So much fun! Amazing scenery
Most enjoyable hike for five days. Good sleeping quarters warm showers and good soft mattresses at all the camping sites. Day three could be marked more often on the trail, otherwise all trail markings were well marked. Good company. Slack packing great.
We stayed one night in the Pongola Express Camp. We arrived in the evening and nobody was there to greet us even though we warned in advance about the late hour of our arrival. The isolation is bad. The carriages are quite cold on winter. The comfort is rudimentary. However the style is unique.
We had such a fantasic time on our one night stay at the Pongola express camp. The rustic feel of sleeping in the carriages is one to experience. It gives you an Old World feel, yet with modern benefits. Our host, Donna, was incredibly friendly and hospitable. We will be back!
