Reviews for Reef Hotel
Twas nice. Maybe not best for a relaxing weekend. It's more of a business travel hotel. Well located, near taxis, train station and amenities. Decently priced. There was a political party delegation there so breakfast was busy and very noisy. Otherwise a decent establishment. As long as the door doesn't lock you in on a floor and the party noise 2 floors above you doesn't bleed into your room
The service is just excellent not to mention the staff with their bubbly personality. That's a very good hotel with outstanding hospitality
Love being in the middle of Joburg. You start realising how vibrant the City actually is. The Hotel is well positioned and everything you need and want to see is just 10min away. We were welcomed with great friendliness. The staff was always ready to help with our needs. We however did not have food at the hotel as we thought it was quite over priced. But there are many options within the city! The hotel room was beautiful and comfortable! Should pick a uneven number room, as it looks out to the City and Gandhi square!
Dinner order was incorrect even though there were only 2 people dining at that time. No Merlot wine available. Cool drinks frozen eventually got a warm drink. Rooms average and noisy
The food is nice, standard conference rooms but their parking is something else if the can be a way to improve their parking and the drive way to the parking is so narrow. Otherwise it's a good place.
So I booked 5 rooms in the hotel for our stay looking at the pictures online. The hotel is okay nothing quite like the pictures. Firstly the hotel seemed in a very shady area in Johannesburg upon entering the hotel we were welcomed with a very very weird smell all over the hotel and rooms. It was like a strong smell of disgusting room freshener that got some of us a headache. We ordered bottles of water for room service which were very expensive and the order came in after literally calling them 10 times from different rooms. They delivered the water after 2 hours of the order being placed. The light in the bathroom has a sensor which turns off in a min of you not moving. We had an early morning flight and the light went off with no backup. The WiFi hardly ever worked at all. The bell boys were also slow so we ended up pulling our own luggage. Over all a very disappointing hotel. Definitely not a 4 star hotel like they claim to be.
You can sense the luxurious vibe when you enter the lobby and the rooms, but more work needs to be done to cover the 're-purposed building' feel. The open ceiling in the rooms is the most obvious example. The staff were affable and welcoming.
The staff was very nice. It took me a minute to figure out how to use the lights in the room. Besides that everything was perfect. I will be back to visit. The tour guide was great as well. He was able to get me to and from places. Bongani with Aside Travel and Tours. Great location in the city
This place is every bit of a 4 star hotel in a good area of Johannesburg. The rooms are a nice size for sharing and hotel staff are friendly. The food is great. Good for business people but if you want to stay up late on the sundeck chilling with your mates, it's not the place for you. Does not promote self entertainment and night life. Bars and sun deck closing at 10pm was a put off for me. Otherwise, a great stay
I really enjoyed staying at The Reef hotel, you guys are so amazing.I'll definitely call again
I really enjoyed the stay (y). Very stylish rooms and bar. Super friendly staff. The rooms in the upper level have a nice view, but might be a little noisy because of the wind, but that's not really a big deal.Take Ure camera with you... there are some very nice details!
You can not ask more for what you are being charged. A true pity as they are close to be a fair hotel, missing that much to be. Personnel is fairly kind but left on themselves and ( except one manager I met) with no training at all on how to deal with their customers (us).
It was a very nice stay overnight. The staff is professional and very helpful. The hotel is quiet and was ideal for business stay
Love the elegant feel and the ambiance that's set by the lighting, furniture and decorations. The only thing is the lack of ventilation when you're inside, you u constantly need to go out for some air because it can get quite warm inside. Otherwise, loved it, loved the view of the city and the staff has good hospitality.
"Up to the level"
I stayed at Reef Hotel for only 2 nights and I do not have mush to say. Anyway, the basics were there in the room with hot water and ac. Only a heater was missing (I do not know if there was one in the room) as it was really very cold. I also liked the assistance for my tours and airport transfer.
