Reviews for Tingala Lodge
Great secluded place, quiet and relaxed...main road however extremely terrible and not a lot of options in the breakfast...
I came here 23 years ago and never left - I met the Baboons and the Elephants and knew this is where I want to be.
It was a wonderful experience. Wondefful birds & animals to enjoy.
Nice overnight lodge. Staff very friendly
Breakfast was only served at 7. And didnt serve dinner or have an option to serve dinner. so had to go into town to collect groceries to cook for myself. Comfortable rooms with aircon and beautiful setting
We had a special stay at the Tingala Lodge. The guest house is located direct in the bush in the north of Phalaborwa. The owner is a very nice and interesting man with an exciting biography. He designed the lodge and you can feel it, that it is a special place with a lot of space and architecture. Amon is the manager and also very friendly and helpful. He cooked the dinner one evening. The pool area is nice, but I enjoyed the artifical water hole most, because sometimes you can watch animals of the Kruger National Park drink water. Two thing to be aware of. It is outside of Phalaborwa, so you need a car to get around. The Tingala Lodge doesn't have a restaurant included. You can order for dinner, but to have a little bit of entertainment or a normal restaurant you have to go to town. In general there is not so much to do, besides of going on safari. Maybe playing golf at Hans Merensky or visiting the Amarula Lapa.
Reception by Rose was warm and we immediately felt at home, the layout ensure privacy although the lounge, kitchen, pool and boma is shared. The interior design captivates the mind with some amazing features to draw one into the African bush atmosphere. As a bonus, the waterhole close to the social area is visited daily by elephants and various other animals to give a close-up experience never to be forgotten. The white linen in our room was perfectly clean and the large bed very comfortable. Some minor detail in the bath room still need attention, but the overall bush experience makes up for it. Something to remember: When sharing facilities, one should keep in mind that other guests have paid the same amount to have their own bush experience.
Architect designed property located on the edge of Kruger National Park....exceptional decor....tasty breakfasts....staff provide excellent service and genuine hospitality....easy 20 minute drive to the Kruger Gate....highly recommended for anyone planning on visiting this corner of Kruger.
Had a wonderful night's stay. The staff and management are super friendly and helpful. The accommodation and rooms were beautifully laid out and clean. I will be back on my next trip.
Great place to stay. Staff are brilliant. Relaxing area by the fireplace for watching the waterbuck. Wifi in the room. Enjoyable 5km run from the lodge past the impala. Pool was fantastic. Kitchen was perfect. Rooms and facilities are very well kept.
"Tranquility at its best! "
I just spent the past weekend there and had one of my best times. The set up of the lodge is unconventional with a communal way of living. And that is what makes it unique. The architecture of the lodge is beautiful and the scenery is tranquil. Craig and Ali are the hosts and the warmest people I have met. They add on the extra touch of the experience and go all out to make their guests feel like a part of the family. I have no doubt that I will go back, sometime in the near future.
"The best bush experience"
Wow! We had the most wonderful bush experience. Will be returning soon. Craig and Ali took such good care of us. This is the place to go and rest your soul. All the luxury you need surrounded by the bush and animals. PS a bush braai on a night drive is a must!
