Villa Afrikana Guest Suites in Knysna

“The unobstructed views of the world renown Knysna Heads and surrounding lagoon coupled with the architecture, décor, well appointed and spacious suites and the genuine hospitality of your Hosts, will make your stay at Villa Afrikana an unforgettable experience.

Villa Afrikana will be the ideal base from which to experience all that Knysna and the Garden Route have to offer.

With its summery, gleaming white, the geometric architecture of Villa Afrikana is already quite a sight. The stylish interior is just as defined in the same perfect white.

A modern, unpretentious interior gives the compact Villa Afrikana a surprisingly open feel to its rooms. Look out for the cleverly placed objects and eye-catching artworks by local artist Neil Nieuwoudt.

The Villa encloses six suites, specifically designed for panoramic views, spaciousness and comfort.

All suites enjoy fantastic views over the Knysna Heads and surrounding Lagoon. Reputably they are some of the most spacious suites in Knysna and the Garden Route with combined sleeping and seating area averaging 32 square meters of living space.

Each suite also features a comfortably furnished and very spacious luxury bathroom with under-floor heating and double washbasin.

Depending on which suite you reserve, you’ll be resting in a comfortable queen size or even king-size double beds.

Additionally, some of the suites hold further revelations such as a private balcony/terrace or even a hydro massage tub for instance.

Villa Afrikana (VA) is one of the most hospitable and welcoming guest house that I was fortunate enough to stay at.My wife and I spent 7 fantastic days at the VA while we were vacationing in Knysna and our experience at the VA was superb. The hosts, Rossano and Bianca, are truly friendly and do really make you feel at home during your stay at the VA. The staff at the VA are excellent as well. They are always looking out for your well-being, and they are always willing to go the extra mile (kilometer) to ensure that you are enjoying your stay at the VA. Beauty, Lovemore, Talent, Ona, Blossy and Ayanda are part of the staff that work at the VA, and you will get to know them quite well during your stay at the VA.The VA offers a simplistic room service menu, however their inclusive breakfast is a hidden gem. Guests are given the opportunity to select a variety of hot (Segafredo coffees) and cold beverages (fruit juices) for breakfast as well as a variety of different food items, which include eggs, french toast, pancakes and muesli. The VA is nicely located near the Western entrance of Knysna, not far from the N2 highway, and the Knysna waterfront is around 4 - 5 minutes away via car. Additionally, the VA is situated on a small hill/slope which allows a fantastic view of the Knysna lagoon/estuary from the guest house itself. You can actually see the entire lagoon/estuary, all the way from the Knysna Heads to the beginning of the Knysna river to the West.Overall, our experience (as guests) at the VA has become one of the more memorable aspects of our trip to Knysna, and we have already agreed at this stage, that should we ever return to Knysna, we will definitely stay (again) at the VA.Just as note to guests that will be staying at the VA, the driveway is on a bit of a steep incline, so make sure you have a good run-up (drive-up?) once the electronic gate is open. I like to think that the driveway is similar to Mount Panorama's (Sydney Australia) The Dipper turn, as when exiting the VA, you literally have to just let the car roll down out the driveway.

Wow! Bianca and Ross are so amazing, their staff are so cool they looked after us so well. Beauty , Lovemore, Ona, Blossy, Talent and all the other staff were so accomdating.Their breakfast options were so awesome and the way it was presented made it even more spectacular. Every night they would do a "turn down" to make the room cosy. When we got back from dinner, there would be a special suprise in our room from chocolate, nougats, roses and many more, It was so exciting to see what they would leave for us every night.

A mix of tradition and modernity. It is so elegant and relaxing. This is a mansion that sits on the hills built in the (50's?60's?) restored and decorated tastefully. High up that it has a breathtaking view of the lagoon and the Knysna Heads, especially from the rooms on the top floors.Service is like Daniel Boulud's--the servers wait inconspicuously, anticipating your needs with each move during those long, delightful breakfasts. But it doesn't feel intrusive at all. They all know and address you by your last name. Traditional and upscale. The owners are a young couple who have been in the hospitality industry for decades and decided to open a hotel and then another. They are the modern, hip ones.Their curated guide to restaurants, places to go and things to do is really helpful! This was our favorite hotel in South Africa. Anyone staying in Knysna for a few nights should stay here!
