Travel guide to Uniondale, Klein Karoo Kannaland
Although Uniondale is as renowned for its hospitality as it is for its hitchhiking ghost, the small town also has several other, more tangible tourist attractions. To start with, Uniondale is home to the largest watermill in the Southern Hemisphere. Restored in 1977, after 100 years of service, it is now one of seven national monuments that can be seen in and around town. Also of cultural-historical import are the more than 500 San rock paintings found in the area. Visitors more inclined to enjoy nature, will also find Uniondale to be an ideal destination for bird-watching, something than can be enjoyed on one of the botanic routes in the area.
